The first thing almost everyone wants to know is the price. It is a fair question, and the honest answer is "it depends" — but that is not very helpful on its own, so let us break it down properly. Below are the realistic price ranges we quote across Bali in 2026, in IDR, along with the factors that move a job toward the cheaper or more expensive end. These figures match the rates on our pricing page.
Typical Mold Removal Prices in Bali
| Job type | From (IDR) |
|---|---|
| Single bathroom treatment | 500,000 |
| Single room | 1,200,000 |
| Full apartment | 2,500,000 |
| Full villa remediation | 5,000,000 |
| Post-flood / water damage | 3,000,000 |
| Mold inspection only | 500,000 |
These are starting points. A small, early-stage bathroom problem sits at the bottom of the range; a large villa with mold across several rooms, contaminated furniture and a hidden moisture source sits much higher. We always confirm a fixed price before any work begins, so there are no surprises.
What Actually Drives the Cost
Five things move the price more than anything else:
- Affected area. A patch on one wall is quick; mold across multiple rooms, ceilings and wardrobes takes more labour, more product, and more containment.
- How deep it has gone. Surface mildew on tiles is cheap to treat. Mold that has penetrated plasterboard, timber or insulation may require removing and replacing those materials, which adds cost.
- The moisture source. If the dampness comes from a roof leak, a blocked AC drain, or rising damp, that has to be addressed or the mold returns. Diagnosing and coordinating that repair affects the total.
- Type of mold. Toxic black mold requires stricter containment and HEPA handling than ordinary surface mildew.
- Access and prevention coating. Hard-to-reach areas take longer, and adding a 12-month anti-mold protective coating (which we strongly recommend) adds to the upfront cost but saves money long-term.
Why the Cheapest Quote Is Rarely the Best Value
You can find someone in Bali to "clean the mold" for very little. The problem is that surface cleaning without treating the moisture source or applying protection simply resets the clock — the mold is back within weeks, and you pay again. Professional remediation costs more upfront because it includes diagnosis, proper removal with HEPA equipment, antimicrobial treatment, and a protective coating with a 12-month guarantee. Over a year, doing it once properly is almost always cheaper than paying for repeated surface cleans that never hold.
How to Get an Accurate Quote
For a fast, free estimate, the simplest thing is to send us clear photos of the affected areas on WhatsApp, along with the room size and your location. From that we can usually give a price range immediately. For larger villas or anything involving a suspected hidden leak, an on-site inspection gives the most accurate figure. Either way, the initial assessment costs nothing.
